Dartmouth for Clean Water

Mission Statement:

Dartmouth for Clean Water, an officially recognized Tucker Organization, strives to alleviate global water disparity through three fundamental pillars: Awareness, Service and Change.

Awareness: We aim to educate the student body on the global prevalence of clean water deficiency, emphasizing the strict limitations it puts on quality of life.

Service: We aim to improve the standard of living in Haitian communities through the provision of a communal source of clean water, both by implementing filters in interested communities and by conducting research that will encourage further investment in clean water.

Change: Both of our aims together show students and the global community the extent to which unclean water affects those who use it, and demonstrates the feasibility of improving quality of life in communities with unclean water.

Scope:

Local: At Dartmouth, we strive to raise awareness on the topic of clean water disparity. In addition, we hold fundraising events to help purchase clean water filters for developing nations around the world.

Community: We also strive to raise awareness on the issue among the community that surrounds Dartmouth. Our current project involves going into different elementary and middle schools and talking about clean water disparity and its negative effects.

International: Our current international project is in Haiti, where we plan to install clean water filters in six villages outside of the capital.
